The newly inaugurated State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the CEO of Rokana PLC, Engr. Charles Ugwu, has said under his watch agriculture and agriprenuership will be deliberately promoted to rebuild the economy of the state, as well as ensure self a sufficiency in food production, increased rate of employment and income generation.Engr. Ugwu disclosed this during an interaction with newsmen at the PDP Secretariat in Owerri, the Imo State Capital. As he reiterated his commitment to ensure that party reclaim Government House. He also promised rebuild Imo State via industrialization.The former MAN President further said with the incoming PDP Government in IMO Agriculture and industries would be used to tackle the challenges of youth unemployment and to enhance the economy of the state.
Engr. Ugwu hinted that the problems of insecurity in IMO would be adequately looked into to make the state safer and more secure for citizens, investors and enterprises to live and do business.The former Minister submitted that why he offered to serve the party again was to solidify the hold of the state by the PDP, while thanking his predecessors for doing their best to ensure that PDP reclaimed Imo State in the 2019 general elections..He asserted that with the widely acclaimed governance performance of Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha as governor, it was established that Imo State and Imo people fare much better with PDP.
