Food sufficiency: Obiano’s agricultural revolution to the rescue – Aide

The Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano on agriculture, Mrs. Theresa Okoye, said governor Willie Obiano’s agricultural revolution in Anambra state has engendered food sufficiency in the state.

Mrs. Okoye who made the assertion while speaking in Awka, noted that the governor’s numerous agricultural revolution and interventions in the State has made farmers in Anambra state to compete favourably with their counterparts in the developed World.

According to Mrs. Okoye, agriculture remains the mainstay and bedrock of the Socioeconomic development of any nation, citing Thailand, Malaysia, China, Israel and the United States of America among others, as nations that have accorded priority to the agricultural sector.

The Special Assistant urged all farmers in the State to always utilize and maximize all the opportunities embedded in both the State and federal government agricultural interventions.

Mrs. Okoye urged farmers in Anambra East and West, Ayamelum, Ogbaru, Awka North and Ihiala that have often suffered flood menace to abide by all the precautionary measures given to them by experts to safeguard their crops at all times.
