Bringing Adapalm Back Is A Task That Must Be Done –Obodo

 The General Manager of Adapalm Nig. Ltd, Hon. Goddy Esom Obodo, has said that he would do everything humanly possible to revamp the company.

Hon. Obodo, who stated this while addressing the traditional rulers of Ohaji/Egbema and Oguta local governments, who paid him a courtesy visit in his office recently, said bringing Adapalm back is a task that must be done, saying that he has the capacity and knowledge to revive the company

Thanking the governor of Imo state, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma, for appointing him the General Manager of Adapalm, he said that the governor meant well for Adapalm, as he is working hard to restore its lost glory.

 He disclosed that the governor had approved the appointment of Adapalm security men, approved the re-employment and re-integrating of Adapalm workers sacked during the administration of Senator Rochas Okorocha, approved the renovation of some office blocks to accommodate those that would be recalled and also approved the renovation of the Staff quarters that are in a state of dilapidation. He added that Down Stream Industry that will be producing different things like vegetable oil etc, would be brought back .

Describing Adapalm as the greatest industry Imo state has, he noted that  the problem is that those that have been managing it did not see it as their own ,and promised that he would do everything possible to make the governor, the people of Ohaji/Egbema and Oguta proud by revamping it

The GM, who further stated that the owners of Adapalm who steal palm fruits on regular basis were part of the problem of the company, said that recently over 30 of them were arrested. He however solicited the support of the traditional rulers in that respect, saying that he will be happy if they can help in the fight against insecurity in the area.

 While assuring that the traditional rulers would be carried along, he said that the Adapalm landlords would surely knew that their son is incharge  when things improve as expected.

Earlier in his speech, HRH  Eze Sylvester Okwuodu, the TROMPCON  Chairman, Imo State, and traditional ruler of Obomadike Autonomous Community Egbema, said that they came to identity with the Adapalm GM, Obodo, and also thank him for accepting to serve his people, saying that he remains the only person that will develop the area, as he has the capacity to uplift Adapalm.

He said that with the way things  were going, Adapalm would soon bounce back to life and called for effective management of the company that is supposed to feed the people.

While thanking the governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, for finding Hon. Obodo worthy to serve the state, he expressed their preparedness to continue to  support  both the administration of Senator Hope Uzodinma and the management of Adapalm

Speaking on behalf of the landowners, HRH Eze Emma Asor, who said that Hon Obodo was capable  of reviving Adapalm, enjoined him to work hard in order to leave monumental legacies at the end of his administration, saying that virtually everybody  in Ohaji/Egbema and Oguta is a core owner of Adapalm, he appealed that the General Manager to always take care of the traditional rulers from the area and assured of their support to the management.

Adding his voice, HRH Eze A.R Ikegwuruka, traditional ruler of mgbirichi/Abakoru Autonomous community and former national chairman of TROMPCON ,described Hon.Obodo as a seasoned politician and administrator, saying that he will certainly deliver as he has never failed in all the duties assigned to him since he ventured into politics. He added that they were comfortable with him as he will do something that would benefit the entire people of Ohaji/Egbema and Oguta local governments.   

 he his, the traditional ruler of Obudi Agwa Autonomous Community, Oguta local government and former Chairman, Oguta Council of Traditional rulers, HRH Eze 1.0.Asor [Udi 1 of Obudi Agwa],who said that  he was the first traditional ruler that gave Hon. Obodo the title ’OHAMA DIKE’, stated that they were there to thank him in a special way for his effort so far.

Eze Asor who described his appointment as a square peg in a square hole, said that it was the first time the traditional rulers from the area visited General Manager of Adapalm since the establishment of the company, saying that they are there because of his type of person.

 He also thanked the governor Senator Hope Uzodinma, for choosing him to head Adapalm and asked him to maintain the confidence reposed in him by making sure that Adapalm produces something that would be used to auguement the 13 percent derivation fund to Imo state

In their separate speeches, the Chairman Oguta Council of Traditional Rulers, HRH Eze Igwe Franklin, the traditional rulers of Ossemoto Automonous Community, Oguta LGA and HRH Eze Dele Odigbo,the traditional ruler of Nkwesi Autonomous Community, Oguta LGA, extolled the good virtues  of Hon .Obodo, and tasked him to work effectively , as God brought him to Adapalm to enable him effect positive changes in the area.
