Since the lockdown following COVID-19 in Nigeria, individuals and foundations have donated to the poor and the needy around them.

Engineer JohnBosco Onunkwo is one of such spirited individuals who through his foundation, JohnBosco  Onunkwo  Foundation distributed relief materials to indigent Ndi Anambra to cushion the effect of lockdown occasioned by COVID 19 Pandemic. 

The relief materials included hand sanitizer, face mask, hand gloves, Noodles and cash donation  of five thousand naira which is a continuous process.

The event which took place at Umuchu in Aguata Council Area was a huge success as beneficiaries who trooped out in their numbers to receive from one of their own prayed for God’s abundant blessings upon him. 

In an interview with Gist Agrica, the President General Umuchu, Engr. Emeka Ononuju, thanked the donor JohnBosco Onunkwo for his benevolence, while describing him as a true son of the community, thanked him for remaining in the business touching people’s life positively.

Engr. Onunkwo has been doing a lot of humanitarian work through his foundation for so many years and I pray God to reward him abundantly” he said. 

The story was the same at Ihiala, Njikoka, Oyi  as well as other Local Government Areas visited as beneficiaries were full of praises for the sponsor especially for being remembering them at this critical period, and asked God to grant all his heart desires. 

The Director General JohnBosco  Onunkwo Foundation Mr. Chinemelum  Aguegbe said the foundation is based on serving humanity through saving lives, rapid response to emergencies among others.

He said “the foundation envisaged the plight of indigent members of the state and decided to take action immediately; we started sharing palliative one week after the lockdown was announced in the State government.” 

He encouraged the people to engage in meaningful ventures that will assist them contend with emergency situations that may likely arise in the future. 

Some dignitaries at the event including Sir Ben Aniekwe, Evangelist Chuks Obed, Akunne Onichie among others thanked the foundation for their quick response and intervention to the situation and prayed for God’s blessings.
