Rotary honours Anambra liaison officer in Abuja, Mrs. Manafa
Reward for hard work they say is more work.
This maxim came to the fore, as the Anambra liaison officer in Abuja; Mrs. Agatha Manafa was honoured with an award for humanitarian Services by the joint body of Rotary club of Gwarimpa and Kubwa.
The liaison officer who was honoured for her assistance to the down trodden, used the opportunity to call on wealthy individuals to assist their less fortunate neighbours.
Mrs. Manafa, also called on Ndi Anambra in the FCT, to join their various town meetings so as to benefit from her office.
According to her, Anambra State government through the liaison office, is ever ready to assist its citizens but cannot help any without the recognition of their Community.
Earlier, a past Assistant Governor of Rotary, Leke Adepeju, said Rotary has been in existence for the past one hundred and three years and will not relent in its efforts at achieving peace in the world.
He said the rotary club has been in the forefront of eradicating poverty occasioned by medical costs, inadequate sanitary facilities, and malnutrition and quality education.
In his speech, the Hakimi of Dutse Abuja, His Royal Highness Abubakar Bako, commended Rotary for putting smiles on the the faces of people saying that without strangers, no Community will develop and called on the people of his Community to always live in harmony with visitors.
