By Ekwi Ajide
Thanksgiving has been described as the gateway to further blessings from God. The vicar of Our Saviour’s Anglican Church, Azhata, Abuja; Venerable Uche Anikwenwa gave this assurance, during a special service at the church, recently. The Anambra born cleric, asked Christians to always thank God no matter how little they think their blessings are as it would open better doors for them.
Venerable Anikwenwa, declared that giving to the poor and needy especially widows, is another key to opening the doors to God’s abundant blessings. He therefore charged Christians to be generous givers so as not to lack
In his sermon, Reverend Canon Innocent Uchegbulam, who was a special guest at the service, cautioned against unbridled quest for wealth saying that if a man wants to be honored he must be of proven integrity and be in covenant with God.
According to Canon Uchegbulam, any sacrifice of negativity only hinders the spiritual growth of Christians and must be fervently prayed for its cancelation through the blood of Jesus Christ. The man of God charged Christians to be purveyors of the Word of God as according to him, that is where the power is. The special service also featured thanksgiving by different families and groups.
