NYCN CHAIRMAN COMMENDS IHEDIOHA FOR ORGANIZING RETREAT FOR GOVT FUNCTIONARIES
The Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Imo State Chapter, Comr. Chukwuemeka Isidor Chidozie, has commended Governor Emeka Ihedioha, for organizing a 3-days Retreat on Capacity Building for government functionaries in the state. The retreat was held at the Oguta Lake Resort with many government functionaries in attendance.
Chukwuemeka, during a chat with newsmen in Owerri, said the retreat will enhance the capacity of the government appointees to assist the governor to deliver his visionary mandate to rebuild the state to enviable heights.
He disclosed that the retreat looked at “regulatory reforms, improvement of the business environment, identifying needs of the people, security in Imo communities, public procurement policies, sanitation, code of conduct for public officers, roles and responsibilities of government functionaries, human capital development; using education as gateway especially the application of technical, vocational education training to engage youths and provide skills”. He expressed the optimism that due process in governance will strengthen good leadership and also enable the people especially the youths to embrace the skill acquisition programmes of the government so that they can become self-reliant.
While reassuring the governor of the continued support of the council, Chukwuemeka encouraged government functionaries to always discharge their functions effectively to assist the governor in his efforts to rebuild Imo for the betterment of the people and the state.
