ORLU SENATE: ONYERERI WILL DEFEAT OKOROCHA AT APPEAL COURT– ABURI
Comrade Ahanonu Williams Aburi, who is the Imo State PDP Youth Leader, has expressed hope that Hon Jones Onyereri, the candidate of the PDP for Orlu Senatorial District Seat in the 2019 election, will defeat Rochas Okorocha at the Appeal Court.
This proposed court victory, according to Aburi, will be a reality, because the people of Orlu Senatorial District overwhelmingly gave Hon Jones Onyereri their mandate for sound representation having tested and trusted him as a good politician who fears God with love for mankind.
Aburi made his feelings known of how the PDP candidate would reclaim his mandate when he interacted with our reporter at the PDP Secretariat, Okigwe Road, Owerri, last Saturday.
Obviously, Jones Onyereri, who represented Nwangele/Nkwerre/Isu/ Njaba/ Federal Constituency at the National Assembly for 8years, had vowed to challenge the Election Petition Tribunal verdict for the Imo West Senatorial election, which declared Rochas Okorocha winner.
Aburi reflected that despite the “testimony by the INEC Returning Officer for the Imo West Senate, Prof Francis Innocent Ibeawuchi, about how he declared Rochas Okorocha winner of the
election under duress, the Tribunal still judged in his favor. This verdict was a slap on truth and a sham that shall be reversed by the higher court”.
“To this, PDP and the people of Orlu Senatorial Zone including Jones Onyereri, are not perturbed because we fully believe we shall win at the Appeal Court. Court believes in justice and we are hopeful the judiciary will do the right thing. We have chances of reclaiming our stolen mandate from Rochas Okorocha. Onyereri, according to the electorate, won the election resoundingly and the testimony of the INEC Returning Officer, Prof Francis Innocent Ibeawuchi who testified
that he was kidnapped by Okorocha’s supporters at the INEC Collation Centre, Orlu and forced to declare him winner, was a clear confirmation”.
Also, Ahanonu who is a Member of the Interim Management Committee of ITC, maintained that PDP, having worked hard in the last election, got overwhelming victory, would never allow their mandate to be stolen nor thwarted, saying Onyereri is the man of the people and Orlu Senatorial District sees him as the right person for the exalted Senate Seat hence their vote.
Aburi added that Orlu people want the judgement of the Appeal Court to favor the PDP candidate considering the testimony of the INEC Returning Officer, Prof Francis Innocent Ibeawuchi and their
overwhelming mandate to Jones, calling on the people to continue to support the PDP led administration for a peaceful, prosperous and comfortable society.
He advised the Imo ex- governor, Rochas Okorocha, to choose his utterances while criticising the policies and programs of Governor Emeka Ihedioha who he praised for positively rebuilding the State.
