Children are special gifts from God. No wonder those who get blessed with new babies, especially according to their heart desires, rejoice to the fullest.

Such was the case for  Engineer Chikelue Anagor of Owele Olie, Ifite Aguleri, in Anambra East Local government Area, as they took their baby boy, Chikelue Okechukwu, to church for dedication.

The dedication ceremony started with a holy mass at Our Lady Queen of Nigeria Pro Cathedral, Garki, Abuja, where baby Okechukwu was received with words of exaltation.

In his homily, a visiting priest, Rev. Father, Usus Inyang,  urged Christians to seek the right approach to loving God  just as he reminded them to always listen to the inner voice which directs man’s steps and actions.

He cautioned that Christians must not be quick in condemning others but should become plea bargainers for one another like the Biblical advocate for Sodom and Gomorra.

At a reception after the mass, the chairman on the occasion and the President General of Anambra State People’s Association, Abuja, Engineer Ike Iwenofu, thanked God for the gift of a baby boy whom he said will do exploits. He reasoned that the dedication will expose the baby and his family to limelight positively, and encouraged couples who are yet to get a child of theirs to trust in God.

For Chief Mrs Edith Ejezie, God’s blessing is now complete for the Anagor family and her prayer is that they have all that is needed to train the child aright.

When it was time for prayers for the child, Ndi Aguleri took the lead. While the women presented the child, their men, Chief Ikechukwu Chioba and Chief Michael Udalor said the prayers

The parents of the child, were full of thanksgiving to God for His benevolence to them through the gift of a male child after the loss of the previous one. This informed the mother, Mrs Rosemary Okechukwu’s opinion that the baby is just like king David of the Bible who defeated Goliath. However, his father, Engineer Chikelue, believes he is the child who will continue his lineage.

And when it was time for dances, the couple flanked by their family and friends, took to the stage.
